About The Position

Abbott Label is hiring a Press Operator for its Texas operation. The role produces printed materials using assigned printing machinery and prepares flexo presses with the materials and tooling needed for efficient workflow. The operator runs presses, completes jobs efficiently, supports pressroom quality control, and may perform other activities assigned by a supervisor, including machine operation or maintenance assistance. No supervisory responsibilities are involved.

The schedule is 2:15 PM to 12:45 AM, Monday through Thursday. On-the-job training is provided.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with Mark Andy printing equipment is required.
• Ability to operate, or quickly learn to operate, various printing machines.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent mechanical skills.
• Punctual and reliable.
• Physically able to operate printing machines.
• Able to bend, twist, and kneel.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the narrow web printing industry.
• Vocational or technical school training.
• Previous related experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate various types of printing machines.
• Review client requests to understand the scope and parameters of print jobs.
• Determine the quantities required for print jobs.
• Align and configure machinery.
• Inspect random production samples to evaluate print quality.
• Troubleshoot printing-machine issues and make basic repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance on printing machines.
• Draft and submit reports for daily production totals.
• Maintain a clean area around printing machinery.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
