About The Position

The Press Operator produces printed objects and materials using assigned printing machinery. The operator stages Flexo Presses with materials and tooling to support an efficient workflow, runs presses, completes jobs efficiently, and assists with quality control in the pressroom. Additional duties may be assigned by a supervisor and may include operating a machine or assisting with maintenance needs. There are no supervisory responsibilities. The position is offered on either a first or second shift, Monday through Friday: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM or 2:30 PM–11:00 PM.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with Mark Andy Printing equipment is required.
• Ability to operate, or quickly learn to operate, various printing machines.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent mechanical skills.
• Punctual and reliable.
• Ability to physically operate printing machines.
• Ability to bend, twist, and kneel.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the narrow web printing industry preferred.
• Vocational or technical school training preferred.
• Previous related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate various types of printing machines.
• Review client requests to understand the scope and parameters of print jobs.
• Determine the quantities required for print jobs.
• Align and configure machinery.
• Inspect random production samples to evaluate print quality.
• Troubleshoot printing machine issues and make basic repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance on printing machines.
• Draft and submit reports of daily production totals.
• Maintain a clean area around printing machinery.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
