About The Position

Carpenter Co. is hiring an Operator B/Laminator for its manufacturing plant in Temple, Texas. This mid-level machine operator sets up, operates, and monitors laminating equipment safely while meeting production-volume and product-quality standards. Initial training lasts 4–6 weeks on first shift while the full team is onboarded; the position is on the third-shift team. The operator laminates poly to carpet cushion rolls, manages production equipment and changes, monitors for defects, records downtime, and maintains a clean, safe work area. Rolls weighing up to 80 pounds are handled with team assistance.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read a basic tape measure.
Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
Ability to perform heavy lifting of up to 80 pounds.

Responsibilities

Set trimmer blades to the desired width, rack up laminating poly, and adjust the hot roller gap according to product specifications.
Laminate poly to carpet cushion rolls and manage the roll stamper.
Visually inspect the machine, monitor side trim, and watch production for defects.
Re-tape the hot roller as needed, clean the treater, and perform minor maintenance troubleshooting.
Coordinate upcoming size changes with the accumulator operator.
Accurately document machine downtime throughout the shift.
Safely handle and move carpet cushion rolls weighing up to 80 pounds with team assistance.
Maintain an orderly, clean, and hazard-free work area.
