About The Position

Carpenter Co. is hiring a Material Handler/Forklift Driver for its Carpet Cushion operations at its manufacturing plant in Temple, Texas. The position supports warehouse efficiency by operating powered industrial trucks to move materials from the production floor to loading docks. Initial training lasts 4–6 weeks and takes place on first shift while the full team is onboarded.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Forklift experience or ability to pass company certification.
Basic computer literacy for inventory tracking and data entry.
Ability to accurately read and interpret a basic tape measure.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and understand English instructions and labeling processes.

Responsibilities

Operate forklifts safely in tight, high-traffic production areas and loading docks.
Retrieve and transport raw materials and finished goods from inventory and stock locations to support Carpet Cushion operations.
Organize inventory according to the department layout plan for proper material storage.
Label materials accurately and document partial blocks for future use.
Maintain a neat, orderly, hazard-free work environment and follow safety standards.
Perform additional tasks and related duties as assigned by the management team.
