About The Position

Carpenter Co. is seeking a team-oriented machine operator to safely and efficiently operate assigned equipment and produce usable carpet cushion products according to a daily production schedule. The operator works closely with peer operators, leadership, and management to keep production running smoothly and safely while meeting production goals and maintaining operational excellence. Initial training lasts 4–6 weeks and takes place on first shift while the full team is onboarded. The role is performed in a normal plant environment with regular exposure to temperature changes. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to accurately read and interpret a tape measure.
Ability to maintain clear, ongoing communication with department machine operators, lead persons, supervisors, managers, and fellow employees.
Ability to work comfortably in a normal plant environment with regular exposure to temperature changes.

Responsibilities

Properly operate assigned machinery.
Conduct visual inspections of assigned machinery.
Perform routine quality checks to ensure standard guidelines are met.
Continuously watch for defects or flaws in materials.
Plan workflow with the lead or supervisor to ensure the proper product is ready for the next production task.
Perform minor machinery troubleshooting.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Communicate with department machine operators, lead persons, supervisors, managers, and fellow employees.
