About The Position

This position follows a hybrid work model, with an average of three days per week onsite. The exact onsite schedule may fluctuate depending on meetings, project demands, and overall department needs. The Senior Operations Specialist is a trusted operational leader who independently drives high‑impact initiatives that improve efficiency, safety, productivity, and cost across the organization. This role translates complex healthcare operations into clear, actionable strategies for leaders and stakeholders, while confidently managing projects from design through execution. With strong communication skills, disciplined project management, and advanced proficiency in technology and data, the Senior Operations Specialist supports both daily operational performance and long‑term strategic goals—often across multiple service lines in a large, highly regulated healthcare system. The Sr. Operations Specialist works independently and autonomously to identify, lead, drive and manage work that supports the strategies, initiatives, and goals of the organization. Responsible for the development, implementation and support of programs and projects that ensure operational efficiency, enhanced safety, increased productivity, reduced cost, and continuous improvement. Manages the day-to-day operational needs as well as the strategic goals of the business. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in business, healthcare administration or related field
  • 5 years of relevant experience

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree
  • 5 years of proven leadership
  • 5 years of experience in healthcare and working within in an organization of size and complexity comparable to Corewell Health

Responsibilities

  • Lead operational excellence in a complex, fast‑moving healthcare environment.
  • Independently drive high‑impact initiatives that improve efficiency, safety, productivity, and cost across the organization.
  • Translate complex healthcare operations into clear, actionable strategies for leaders and stakeholders.
  • Confidently manage projects from design through execution.
  • Support both daily operational performance and long‑term strategic goals—often across multiple service lines in a large, highly regulated healthcare system.
  • Identify, lead, drive and manage work that supports the strategies, initiatives, and goals of the organization.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and support of programs and projects that ensure operational efficiency, enhanced safety, increased productivity, reduced cost, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage the day-to-day operational needs as well as the strategic goals of the business.
  • Provide operational leadership for new and existing programs and projects.
  • Ensure required documentation, reporting, data collection and database utilization are performed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Prepare progress reports, study results and other reports as required.
  • Collect and analyze process, productivity, value and quality related data to initiate, develop, and recommend operational practices and procedures that focus on operational efficiency, enhanced safety, increased productivity, and reduced cost.
  • Direct, organize, and engage in process and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Responsible for identifying, leading, and implementing recommendations to improve operational efficiency, new services for area of responsibility and creates documentation of new established workflows.
  • Serve as the operational lead to provide structure, project management and direction for new and existing workflow transformation and other operational initiatives.
  • Develop action and projects plans focused on operations and running the business.
  • Lead compliance activities across the organization to ensure services are provided in accordance with State and Federal regulations, organizational policies and procedures, medical staff bylaws and accreditation/compliance requirements.
  • May work on initiatives that span across several service lines.
  • May serve as interim leadership
