The Operations Program Planner (OPP) participates in the planning, tracking and reporting of program material logistic tasks. The OPP is a key member of the program team and works directly with the Project Managers and Development Engineers to help define the program's logistic material shortfalls; and recommends actions to improve progress and performance. The OPP will have significant interface with Project Managers and Development Engineers, as well as other functional organizations including procurement, engineering, finance, shipping, inspection and quality. He or she is responsible for planning and scheduling, tracking and reporting of program material logistic status. The main responsibility will be to ensure an uninterrupted flow of parts to development program(s). You will also support the Advanced Industrialization product Leads as a point of contact with external sources and internal manufacturing sites. The Advanced Industrialization team and the material planner will work in a new environment within Operations and Engineering, and, as such, the material planner is expected to find solutions to issues which are typically undefined and where information may be difficult to obtain across functions and/or businesses. This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based in Longueuil, and performed exclusively on-site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma of College Studies related to material logistic management
  • Over 10 years of experience in Operations in an aerospace engine components or similarly demanding industries.
  • Working knowledge of relevant software applications, such as MS tools (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical abilities; detail oriented and well organized
  • Ability to analyze and filter pertinent data from various sources

  • This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report engine Bill of Material (BOM) changes and approval flows
  • Monitor and report on procurement activities involving Request for Quote (RFQ) and material shortages impacting engine deliveries
  • Interface with Pratt & Whitney Canada’s Operating Systems (SAP, PLM and other) to place production and engineering demand
  • Manage priority at receiving and inspection to clear material and reduce engine delivery impact
  • Work with offshore support groups to process sale orders and shipments
  • Create and monitor procurement requests through Job Ticket system
  • Support the Field Support Representatives (FSR) at customer facilities by generating and request approval for material and tooling consignment replenishment
  • Provide planning support for New Program Introduction (NPI) commitments revised by finance
  • Support status tracking and follow-up of material at inspection due to Quality Notification (QN)
  • Support status tracking and follow-up of material with rework or modification until job order completion
  • Monitor supplier performance by leveraging existing tools and support organizations (i.e.: Quality, Engineering, Technical Teams), and coordinate with product Leads improvement plans with external sources and internal manufacturing sites.
  • Identify risks and escalate within the organization
  • Monitor, and when necessary initiate, procurement, manufacturing, and assembly & test processes, managing suppliers, partners, and sites to ensure on-time delivery. This implies issuing Purchase Orders or Internal Orders in SAP
  • Manage Line of Balance and work-in-progress reports, providing accurate progress updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance material planning accuracy and responsiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace quality and traceability requirements (e.g., lot control, batch tracking).
  • Support Lean initiatives and supplier collaboration efforts to improve supply chain efficiency.
