About The Position

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for an Operations Professional (Part-time) opportunity to support the Savannah River Site. The Operations Professional shall have experience with establishing and implementing small integrated operations support teams that also include a graded approach to Project Management Principles for operational activities. They will have a strong focus on operational assessments and are familiar with support project installation activities, technical compliance, and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in field work assessments, be familiar with regulatory safety protocols, and have working knowledge of engineering and technical documentation related to operations and maintenance projects.

Requirements

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience with all aspects of the operation of high hazard and complex facilities to DOE Order 422.1 requirements, including five (5) years of such experience at a DOE facility.
  • Proven experience in operational field assessments, evaluations, or related fieldwork.
  • Familiarity with OSHA Hazardous Energy Control standards and related safety practices.
  • Working knowledge of Technical Work Documents and Engineering Guides used in operational project environments.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a field setting.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience or familiarity with Savannah River Site (SRS) policies and procedures supporting operations and/or maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive operations assessments to ensure project alignment with safety, quality, and technical requirements.
  • Conduct field observations and evaluations to verify operational activities comply with design specifications and work control processes.
  • Apply knowledge of Hazardous Energy Control Processes, including OSHA Hazardous Energy Standards, to promote and enforce job site safety.
  • Review and interpret Technical Work Documents (TWDs) associated with project installations.
  • Utilize Engineering Guides to support operational planning, implementation, and evaluation activities.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and safety professionals to identify and mitigate operations-related risks.
  • Maintain documentation of assessments, evaluations, and compliance checks for reporting and continuous improvement.
