Operations Manager - Supply

Snorkel AI•New York City, NY

About The Position

Snorkel AI is hiring an Operations Manager - Supply to serve as the supply lead for one or more specialized expert domains and their pods. The role is accountable for ensuring the right experts are available, appropriately allocated, and productive when projects need them. The domains owned may change as customer demand and the company’s portfolio shift. The position combines planning and execution across the middle of the expert-contributor funnel, from onboarding through project assignment. The manager develops project staffing plans, allocates qualified contributors, maintains a vetted bench in anticipation of demand, and balances speed with the quality of expert matches. The role partners upstream with acquisition and recruiting, downstream with Delivery and Expert Experience, and also works closely with BPO partners and analytics. The successful candidate will help establish repeatable supply processes and automation, monitor operational outcomes, identify and resolve performance gaps, and serve as the primary supply partner to pod leadership. Snorkel AI describes itself as a rapidly scaling company with proven solutions and robust funding, offering opportunities to shape priorities, influence strategic decisions, and develop skills and career opportunities. The company is an equal opportunity employer and provides reasonable accommodations during the application and employment process.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in supply operations, workforce or staffing operations, marketplace operations, or a comparable role in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience sourcing, allocating, or managing a pool of specialized talent and making trade-off decisions when demand exceeds available supply.
  • Ability to work with data using SQL or a BI tool, and experience using a system of record such as Airtable or Salesforce beyond basic logging.
  • Experience building capacity plans or forecasts, including scenario planning when demand signals are uncertain.
  • Track record of structuring ambiguous processes by writing SOPs, gaining adoption, and improving processes after implementation.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills, including aligning Delivery, recruiting, and external partners with differing priorities.
  • High ownership, a bias toward action, and sound judgment about when to escalate for a decision.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with credentialed or highly specialized professionals, such as engineers, clinicians, researchers, or attorneys.
  • Familiarity with credentialing, licensure verification, or handling regulated data.
  • Experience with AI training data, annotation, or expert-in-the-loop work.

Responsibilities

  • Build a staffing plan for every project in the assigned domains, covering role mix, peak targets, ramp timing, and source mix; flag gaps to Delivery before projects peak.
  • Maintain a pre-vetted expert bench in each domain sized against forecast demand.
  • Redeploy experts from ending projects before sourcing new experts.
  • Allocate experts based on credentials, domain fit, and past performance, rather than availability alone.
  • Work with Delivery to understand what drives high-quality, high-acceptance work in each domain, and apply those insights to vetting and matching.
  • Track project staffing target attainment, speed of supply, assignment rates for allocated experts, and time for new experts to find work; investigate and address performance gaps.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for pod leadership, translate changing priorities into supply actions, and escalate constraints early with options.
  • Turn supply processes into standard operating procedures and help automate them.
  • Partner with acquisition and recruiting to grow domain supply, Delivery to activate contributors on projects, Expert Experience to keep top experts engaged, and BPO partners and analytics.
