The Outbound Operations Manager is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing outbound operations at a distribution center location. Reporting to the General Manager or Assistant General Manager, this role manages outbound teams and activities, ensures compliance with safety regulations, and implements strategic priorities. The manager promotes engagement, empowerment, and problem-solving among teammates while supporting efficient, productive operations. The role also oversees truck yard operations, customer issue resolution, shipping-error investigations, asset protection, budget awareness, cost-saving initiatives, and process improvements. It involves developing employees, collaborating with other distribution center management, and maintaining a safe, organized warehouse environment. The position operates in a warehouse setting with industrial noise, bright overhead lighting, and varying temperatures due to limited climate control. Employees work around moving equipment and mechanical operations and must remain alert to audible and visual safety signals. Physical duties may include lifting and carrying, pushing and pulling equipment, prolonged standing and walking, bending, stooping, climbing, operating warehouse equipment, repetitive motions, and working long hours, weekends, or overtime during peak periods.
