About The Position

The Operations Manager works in Target’s Distribution and Receive Centers, which are responsible for moving products to guests quickly. The role focuses on safety, leadership, operational excellence, self-motivation, problem-solving, and teamwork. The manager fosters a safety-first culture through awareness, training, and accountability and leads the team in maximizing productivity, growth, and development.

The position involves creating a positive work environment through real-time observation and specific, constructive, actionable feedback. The Operations Manager helps ensure operational plans are executed, performance and budget goals are achieved, and teams remain informed and coordinated across functions. The role also supports innovation in processes and methods, future process-flow optimization, root-cause analysis, and calculated testing of solutions. The manager works directly with teams to help meet business goals. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

Requirements

• Four-year degree or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated leadership ability, including the ability to engage and motivate others.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Good reasoning, conflict-management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to access all areas of the Distribution Center, including mezzanine platforms.
• Able to read and interpret necessary policies and procedures and perform updates and operate systems and other programs within the Distribution Center, including traversing conveyor crossovers.
