About The Position

Optimas integrates fastener manufacturing and distribution to provide inventory certainty, consistent quality, and lower cost of ownership. The Operations Manager leads and manages a distribution center in Columbus, Indiana, with 3 direct reports and 40 indirect reports across 3 shifts. The role oversees distribution center operations and people management, with accountability for operational execution, training, financial performance, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in warehouse or distribution management.
• Experience with Office software such as Excel and PowerPoint and at least one WMS.
• Strong leadership and execution skills.
• High integrity, ethics, motivation, organization, energy, and enthusiasm.
• Ability to motivate, coach, and support a team to achieve maximum performance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under high pressure and adapt to change in a fast-moving organization.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Site or large department leadership experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of receiving, warehousing, packing, shipping, inventory, quality, and safety operations.
• Direct, coordinate, and delegate activities in a distribution center environment with more than 30 personnel.
• Coach, inspire, support, and guide team members; communicate job expectations; plan, monitor, appraise, and review contributions; and enforce policies and procedures.
• Lead training efforts for the responsible operation.
• Own and manage the assigned distribution center’s P&L, including budgeting and forecasting.
• Lead continuous improvement strategies for warehouse operations, quality, and safety, including establishing and monitoring designated KPIs.
• Collaborate with partner functions, including Human Resources, to improve operational results and people management.
• Recruit and develop a workplace that sustains employee morale, commitment, and retention.
