About The Position

Keolis is hiring an Operations Manager for Nantucket, MA. This role is responsible for directing and overseeing daily transit operations, ensuring the consistent delivery of safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services. The Operations Manager will monitor service performance, develop and implement operational procedures, and coordinate responses to service disruptions and emergencies. Additionally, this position involves leading and supervising operations supervisors and frontline transportation personnel, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, and managing training programs. The role also includes service planning and performance management, such as preparing shift bid rostering and staffing schedules.

Requirements

Two (2) years of Transit/Transportation supervisory, dispatch or combination experience preferred.
Computer literate to include intermediate experience with MS Office products is required.
Prior leadership experience of a Fixed Route, Paratransit or similar sized operation preferred.
High level of attention to detail.
Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
Strong organizational planning skills.
Must be a self-starter.
Strong practical skills.
Ability to work without direct supervision.
Ability to read, write and speak English.
Ability to work flexible schedules that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Strong analysis and problem-solving skills required.
Basic math skills.
Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Direct and oversee daily transit operations, including fixed-route, paratransit, and demand-response services.
Ensure consistent delivery of safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services.
Monitor service performance, route adherence, on-time performance, and system efficiency.
Develop and implement operational procedures, policies, and service standards.
Coordinate response to service disruptions, emergencies, accidents, severe weather events, and customer incidents.
Analyze operational data and recommend improvements to service delivery and resource utilization.
Lead, supervise, and develop operations supervisors, and frontline transportation personnel.
Establish performance expectations and conduct employee evaluations.
Support workforce planning, recruitment, retention, training, and succession planning initiatives.
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, professionalism, and customer service excellence.
Collaborate with Human Resources on disciplinary actions, investigations, and performance improvement plans.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
Maintain compliance with Federal Transit Administration (FTA), Department of Transportation (DOT), ADA, and other regulatory requirements.
Oversee accident investigations and corrective action programs.
Implement safety management systems and risk mitigation strategies.
Monitor driver qualifications, training records, licensing requirements, and safety performance.
Ensure compliance with drug and alcohol testing programs and related regulations.
Manage Bus Operator training programs including initial, re-training and refresher training.
Lead monthly in-service (Safety Meetings), ensures high-quality output, attendance and engagement.
Prepare Bus Operator shift bid rostering in line with agency service changes.
Prepare structured staffing schedules and duties for Operations Supervisors to ensure proper staffing coverage both in the field and the dispatch office.
Ensure adherence to policies and procedures through routine quality checks.
