About The Position

The Operations Manager oversees the daily operation of the branch’s Distribution and Logistics departments and ensures the effective and efficient flow of goods and services from origin to consumption. The role manages facility operations, warehouse and transportation processes, team members, expenses, and P&L functions. It works with internal leadership to support profitability, efficiency, customer satisfaction, safety, regulatory compliance, and company business goals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 10 years of demonstrated management experience in warehouse operations.
• Strong knowledge of logistics and operational processes.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal OSHA safety and FMCR regulations.
• Strong communication and analytical skills, effective decision-making skills, and commitment to company values.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience in forklift certification and inspection, hazmat certification, and operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and stock pickers.
• High comfort level working in a diverse environment.
• Collaborative work style, openness to direction, and commitment to getting the job done.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Experience managing in a unionized work environment.
• AS 400 experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall facility operations, including supervising team members, monitoring expenses, and overseeing P&L functions.
• Create a safe workplace and promote a culture of safety.
• Partner with Sales, Purchasing, Customer Service, and Logistics leadership to maximize profitability and efficiency and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Lead and manage warehouse processes and practices to align programs with company business goals and objectives.
• Use organizational resources effectively and work with the Operations Director to develop strategic and long-range goals.
• Establish operational standards for cost control, safety, and complete on-time delivery.
• Build a strong group of employees.
• Analyze and propose methods for sustained productivity increases.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and organized warehouse.
• Ensure safe working conditions, including proper employee safety training.
• Counsel and manage employees regarding attendance, performance, and misconduct.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory guidelines, including OSHA standards and DOT regulations.
• Oversee the Transportation Department.
