About The Position

The Operations Manager will oversee daily operations across multiple construction projects throughout Virginia. This role provides leadership and direction to Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams, ensuring alignment with company goals, standards, and strategic initiatives. The Operations Manager will monitor project performance, support teams in resolving challenges, and ensure consistency in project execution and reporting. Additionally, this role involves mentoring and developing project teams, fostering a high-performance culture, and supporting recruitment efforts. Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and industry partners is crucial, as is driving continuous improvement in operational processes and ensuring compliance with policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Financial oversight, including budget and profitability management, and proactive risk management are also key components of this position.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in commercial construction, with leadership experience at the Project Manager or Senior Project Manager level.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams across a regional footprint.
  • Strong understanding of construction operations, scheduling, budgeting, and project controls.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, scheduling tools).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and accountability across all operational functions.
  • Drive results while maintaining a team-first, people-focused culture.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in government contracting methods including collaborative delivery methods like CMAR, Design-Build, and IDIQ/Job Order Contracting, or similar delivery methods.
  • Familiarity with Virginia construction markets, subcontractor networks, and regulatory environment.
  • Demonstrated success in scaling operations or opening new region

  • Partner with Preconstruction and Finance teams to support accurate planning and forecasting.
