About The Position
The Operations Manager assists in directing and overseeing the department’s support services operations. The role coordinates frontline associates and serves as a liaison between administration and unit departments to provide a high level of service. The position is for the second shift in Washington, D.C.
Requirements
- Four years of experience in support services, military service, housekeeping, and/or facilities maintenance.
- At least one year of supervisory experience in a support-services-related field with substantial customer or client contact.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and in oral presentations.
- Ability to multitask and establish priorities.
- Ability to maintain organization in a changing and stressful environment.
- Initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership.
- Thorough knowledge of contract administration and office procedures.
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as internet use.
Responsibilities
- Establish and annually review standards and work procedures for all staff.
- Plan work and staffing schedules and work areas to ensure adequate services are provided.
- Assist with interviewing, hiring, and training new associates.
- Orient, develop, and supervise supervisory and housekeeping staff.
- Conduct regular inspections and make recommendations to the facility.
- Prepare monthly reports on goals, accomplishments, and future plans.
- Provide staff education and ongoing training.
- Communicate with staff, administration, and other departments.
- Coordinate outside services, including pest control, window cleaning, medical and solid waste services, document destruction, and recycling.
