About The Position

The Operations Manager, Factor Procurement is responsible for flawless execution of the operations plan across assigned categories, sites, brands, and pods, with goals that include avoiding missed boxes, ingredient substitutions, and procurement-related costing overages. The role oversees operational projects from inception through completion and measures their success, while fostering continuous improvement and employee development and driving cost efficiencies and quality improvements. It identifies process bottlenecks and operational risks, develops and executes corrective action plans, and partners with Procurement leadership on long-term Operations and Strategy planning.

This is a hybrid role based at one of the listed sites: Chicago, New York City, or Goodyear, Arizona. Factor provides fresh, fully prepared meals made with high-quality ingredients and developed by an in-house culinary team to support customers’ health and wellness goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least 5 years of purchasing or other relevant leadership experience; experience in produce, protein, or other food products is preferred.
• Quantitative and analytical experience through education or professional experience.
• Solid comfort using Excel.
• Vast knowledge of and interest in food.
• Strong organizational skills and a methodical approach to work.
• Ability to synthesize and present critical information, facilitate group discussions, and reach alignment.
• Ability to use data and insights, maintain attention to detail, and ensure work is double-checked before publication.
• Ability to work autonomously and reprioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage escalations from production facilities, vendors, and other parties quickly and efficiently, using structured approaches and comprehensive communication.
• Execute weekly operations processes.
• Manage accurate weekly costing, scrubbing, and invoice approvals; support weekly and monthly finance processes through research; and execute credits, refunds, and returns to vendor (RTVs).
• Ensure launches are completed accurately and on time for all SKUs.
• Manage tickets and communications, responding quickly and comprehensively and ensuring issues are closed out.
• Manage purchase order placement, communications, improvements, and issue resolution.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for distribution center communications, questions, ad hoc training, escalations, and problem resolution.
• Manage PTO coverage.
• Identify and track week-over-week trends using data, brainstorm solutions, and work with the Senior Manager or AD to resolve issues.
• Communicate effectively and encourage clear, strong, comprehensive communication within the team.
• Build relationships and processes with production facilities and strategy teams.
• Own continuous improvement projects autonomously from beginning to end.
• Identify opportunities to improve current processes using a data-driven approach.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Build and manage project management plans.
• Roll out changes smoothly and track success metrics.
• Lead the identification of process bottlenecks and operational risks, and develop and execute corrective action plans.
• Partner with Procurement leadership on long-term strategy across Operations and Strategy.
• Foster employee development and drive cost efficiencies and quality improvements.
