About The Position

The Operations Manager oversees the daily operation of the branch’s Distribution and Logistics departments. The role ensures the smooth planning, implementation, and control of the effective and efficient flow of goods and services from origin to consumption. Responsibilities include managing facility operations, supervising team members, monitoring expenses and P&L functions, promoting workplace safety, coordinating with internal leadership, and overseeing warehouse and transportation operations. The manager works with the Operations Director on strategic and long-range goals and ensures compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 10 years of demonstrated management experience in warehouse operations required.
• Strong knowledge of logistics and operational processes.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal OSHA safety and FMCR regulations.
• Strong communication, analytical, and decision-making skills, and commitment to company values.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience with forklift certification and inspection, hazmat certification, and operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and stock pickers.
• High comfort level working in a diverse environment.
• Open to direction, collaborative work style, and commitment to getting the job done.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Experience managing in a unionized work environment.
• AS 400 experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall facility operations, including supervising team members, monitoring expenses, and overseeing P&L functions.
• Create a safe workplace and promote a culture of safety.
• Partner with Sales, Purchasing, Customer Service, and Logistics leadership to maximize profitability and efficiency and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Lead and manage warehouse processes and practices to align programs with company business goals and objectives.
• Define, plan, and work with the Operations Director to develop strategic and long-range goals and make effective use of organizational resources.
• Establish operational standards for cost control, safety, and complete on-time delivery.
• Build a strong group of employees.
• Analyze and propose methods for sustained productivity increases.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and organized warehouse.
• Ensure safe working conditions, including properly training employees in safety practices.
• Counsel and manage employees regarding attendance, performance, and misconduct.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory guidelines, including OSHA standards and DOT regulations.
• Oversee the Transportation Department.
