About The Position

This position is responsible for driving and implementing the business plan for their area of responsibility to achieve facility goals in production, quality, and safety. The role involves forecasting staffing, workload, and performance results to meet business demands. The Operations Manager will monitor and ensure compliance with Logistics and company quality and safety standards, policies, and procedures. They will identify and resolve associate, customer, and supplier concerns, and supervise and manage associates and leaders by providing direction, monitoring performance, giving feedback, and identifying training and development needs. This role also involves teaching, supporting, and modeling company policies and procedures, and participating in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates and leaders. The role emphasizes building high-performing teams, embracing diversity, creating a culture of belonging, and empowering associates to thrive. It also involves working collaboratively, communicating with impact, attracting and retaining talent, and acting with integrity by upholding the highest standards of ethics and compliance, modeling company values, and supporting the company's goal of becoming a regenerative company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field (e.g., Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Financial Management, Production/Operations Management)
  • 1 year's experience in an operations/distribution/logistics/retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees for multiple departments / areas
  • OR 1 year's experience as a Walmart Logistics Area Manager supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing associates; managing associate workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of associates
  • OR 3 years' experience in an operations/distribution/logistics/retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees for multiple departments / areas
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Drive and implement the business plan for area of responsibility to achieve facility goals (e.g., production, quality, safety) and implement operational improvements.
  • Forecast staffing, workload, and performance results to meet business demands.
  • Prepare, review, and/or analyze business reports and use information to identify operational improvements.
  • Monitor and ensure area of responsibility's compliance with Logistics and company quality and safety standards, policies, procedures, and directives.
  • Identify and ensure associate, customer, and supplier concerns are resolved.
  • Supervise and manage associates and leaders in area of responsibility by giving direction, monitoring performance, providing feedback, identifying training and development needs, and providing opportunities for learning and growth.
  • Teach, support, and model Logistics and company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates and leaders.
