About The Position

The Operations Manager - Facilities guides strategic investment planning and directs design and construction for capital projects in support of the strategic plan. The role plans, coordinates, and manages hospital facility operations, including the high-pressure steam plant, mechanical and electrical infrastructure, buildings, grounds, and construction. The manager oversees the design of Planning, Design and Construction projects and Facilities Management operations, including the Power Plant, Maintenance, Facilities, and Planning, Design and Construction Management.

The position supports Parkland Health Center, which has hospital locations in Farmington and Bonne Terre, Missouri. The Maintenance Department supports the upkeep of buildings across the Parkland Health Center campus. The manager helps maintain a safe, efficient, and reliable environment for patients, staff, and the community and supports the hospital’s operational and strategic goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience.
• 2–5 years of supervisor experience.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, assign work to, manage, and evaluate staff; conduct professional development plans and ensure the group’s productivity and actions support department operational goals.
• Develop and adhere to departmental staffing, revenue, and/or expense budgets, responding to business changes that may affect budget goals.
• Oversee capital project design activities by managing teams of architects, engineers, and other design professionals.
• Direct and coordinate capital project activities related to infrastructure, buildings, and the campus.
• Maintain an optimal physical environment for patients and staff and ensure it meets regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities to reduce operating costs in support of patient care.
• Provide consultation to the Director of Support Services, VP Operations, leadership, and staff on Facilities and Maintenance in accordance with the strategic plan and Facility Master Plan.
• Oversee Facilities Management operations, including the Power Plant, Maintenance, Facilities, and Planning, Design and Construction Management.
