About The Position
The Operations Leader owns and grows a production department at AmeriLux. The role is accountable for department performance across safety, quality, delivery, and cost, while developing the team and helping employees reach their potential. Performance is measured by on-time production and fill rate; recordable incident rate and safety audit results; scrap, rework, and first-pass quality; labor cost as a percentage of output; and employee turnover and time-to-productivity.
Requirements
- Experience leading a production or manufacturing department, including direct people management.
- Working knowledge of OSHA and ownership of safety programs.
- Experience with safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily production output against the schedule and demand.
- Ensure the safety of everyone on the production floor, including OSHA compliance and incident response.
- Manage product quality and scrap or rework rates.
- Plan labor, staffing levels, and overtime.
- Directly supervise, coach, and manage the performance of the production team.
- Manage the department budget, cost per unit, and equipment uptime.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes, layout, and throughput.
