Operations Lead

Fin•New York, NY

About The Position

Fin is a next-generation payments platform for high-value, global, instant transactions, using stablecoins to help users and businesses move funds across Fin accounts, bank accounts, and crypto rails. As a Series A-stage company, Fin is building financial infrastructure for businesses moving money globally. The Operations Lead will own important cross-functional projects that do not fit neatly within product, operations, growth, or engineering. This person will take ambiguous problems from initial discovery through execution, developing practical solutions that may involve internal processes, customer or partner work, data analysis, requirements writing, lightweight tooling, automation, or collaboration with engineering. The role’s priorities will evolve as Fin grows. Initial projects may include improving customer onboarding and CDD systems, developing internal tooling, automating manual workflows, supporting launches with financial partners or in new markets, and owning operational components of product initiatives. The role will also help make business areas more scalable by identifying recurring operational issues and addressing them with improved processes, automation, tools, or product changes.

Requirements

  • Strong generalist with a demonstrated ability to get things done.
  • Comfortable starting with ambiguous problems rather than detailed instructions.
  • Experience owning projects across multiple functions and organizing numerous moving pieces.
  • Ability to understand stakeholder problems, create concrete plans, and coordinate contributors through delivery.
  • Systems-oriented approach, including questioning repetitive processes and seeking better solutions.
  • Comfort working directly with customers and external partners.
  • Analytical mindset and comfort using data to make decisions.
  • Technical fluency sufficient to work closely with engineers and understand technical products.
  • Ability to write requirements, investigate broken workflows, coordinate complex projects, and perform hands-on work to understand problems.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work on problems without prior experience in every area.

Nice To Haves

  • SQL, API, automation-tool, or lightweight internal-tool-building experience.
  • Experience at an early-stage startup, in product or operations, consulting, banking, or another environment requiring cross-functional work.

Responsibilities

  • Own high-priority projects spanning product, operations, customers, and external partners.
  • Turn loosely defined problems into actionable plans and drive them through execution.
  • Work with customers and internal teams to understand problems and translate them into clear requirements.
  • Create processes and operating systems where none exist.
  • Identify recurring operational problems that can be addressed through better tooling, automation, or product changes.
  • Write requirements and work closely with engineering to build internal and customer-facing tools.
  • Use data to assess processes, identify bottlenecks, and determine where to invest.
  • Build lightweight tools and automations when that is faster than incorporating a solution into the core product.
  • Support launches of products, partners, workflows, and markets by owning the operational work needed to make them successful.
  • Take ownership of areas of the business that need additional support and make them more scalable.
  • Potentially improve customer onboarding and CDD systems, build internal tooling, automate manual workflows, support launches with financial partners or in new markets, and own operational components of new product initiatives.
