About The Position

Flex is seeking an Operations Lead in Salt Lake City, Utah. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this role provides leadership and direction to groups of non-exempt employees and supports production operations. The Lead communicates daily priorities, coordinates resources, helps meet production goals, addresses material and quality issues, and supports effective communication between shifts. The role also mentors employees, identifies training needs, and promotes 5S+1 practices.

Requirements

Successful completion of company-required training may be required.
Proficiency in Flex technologies and manufacturing techniques.
High competency and functional/process knowledge while leading manufacturing processes.
Broad knowledge of manufacturing techniques and ability to improve processes by applying new techniques.
Expert or consultant-level manufacturing knowledge and advanced technical skills that may be used for on-the-job training or to lead and guide other employees.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
Ability to speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

Provide performance feedback to supervisors and coordinate departmental resource requirements.
Communicate daily priorities to the team and lead efforts to meet production goals.
Identify and address material shortages to ensure production lines are adequately supplied.
Update communication reports to support information flow between shifts regarding downtime.
Monitor quality indicators and promptly address performance issues.
Mentor and motivate employees and identify training needs for performance improvement.
Promote compliance with 5S+1 practices and serve as the first point of contact for supervisors.
