About The Position

The Operations Supervisory Internship at nVent provides the opportunity to support various facets of day-to-day plant operations, gaining exposure and valuable development experiences within a global manufacturing organization. This is a 12-week full-time internship during summer 2027. The internship is based out of the Solon, OH facility. Interns are paid $22 per hour and are responsible for their own transportation to and from work. Relocation and housing support is available for eligible candidates. Interns and Co-ops receive paid time off, paid volunteer time, and paid holidays. Interns who demonstrate outstanding performance may be offered a subsequent internship or full-time offer of employment with nVent. The intern experience goes beyond the day-to-day of the role, offering exposure to leadership, engaging development opportunities, and networking with other early career professionals. Training and development are provided through on-the-job experiences and structured learning opportunities, fostering business acumen and leadership skills. Interns join a community of other early career professionals, with a peer-led committee organizing social, professional, and service-related activities. They are also invited to join Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) for special events, networking, professional development, and volunteer opportunities. Mentorship and networking opportunities are available with peers, managers, and senior leaders.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Operations, Operations Management or related field
Must be authorized to work in the U.S now and in the future. NVent does not offer sponsorship to candidates.
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
Willingness to learn and to work collaboratively with all levels within the organization
Energy to listen, desire to learn and ability to be resilient and adaptable through change
Strong work ethic and personal responsibility to see things through to completion

Nice To Haves

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Demonstrated leadership experience
Basic knowledge of Auto CAD

Responsibilities

Monitors daily production of various value streams and participating corrective actions
Conducts quality inspections utilizing quality tools
Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations
Learn and support the application of Lean Methodologies and Principles to become a Lean change agent
Execute and coordinate employee training to ensure that procedures are followed and meet all quality requirements.
Coordinate the timely and accurate movement of material into, within and out of assigned work area as needed.
