About The Position

The Operations Internship at nVent provides an opportunity to support various facets of day-to-day plant operations, gaining exposure and valuable development experiences within a global manufacturing organization. This is a 12-week full-time internship during summer 2027. The role involves monitoring daily production, conducting quality inspections, preparing reports, supporting Lean Methodologies, executing employee training, and coordinating material movement. Interns will experience leadership exposure, development opportunities, and networking with other early career professionals. Training and development are provided through on-the-job experiences and structured learning. Interns join a community of other early career professionals and can participate in Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). Mentorship and networking opportunities with peers, managers, and senior leaders are also available.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Operations, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Current Junior, Graduating with an undergraduate degree between December 2027 and June 2028.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S now and in the future. nVent does not offer sponsorship to candidates.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
  • Willingness to learn and to work collaboratively with all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to respond and adapt to feedback in a positive manner.

  • Strong work ethic and personal responsibility to see things through to completion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Monitors daily production of various value streams and participating corrective actions
  • Conducts quality inspections utilizing quality tools
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations
  • Learn and support the application of Lean Methodologies and Principles to become a Lean change agent
  • Execute and coordinate employee training to ensure that procedures are followed and meet all quality requirements.
  • Coordinate the timely and accurate movement of material into, within and out of assigned work area as needed.
