About The Position

This internship offers the opportunity to apply Lean principles in a real-world manufacturing environment. You will work alongside operations and support teams to identify improvement opportunities and help bring practical solutions to life. This is a 12-week full-time internship during the summer 2027.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain and Operations Management, Production and Inventory control, Engineering.
• Graduating with an undergraduate degree between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Ability to complete a 12-week Full-Time Summer internship from May/June-August 2027 in Blaine, MN.
• Candidates applying for nVent's Co-Op and Internship Program must have current work authorization and be legally authorized to work in the U.S. nVent does not provide work authorization sponsorship.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
• Willingness to learn and to work collaboratively with all levels within the organization
• Energy to listen, desire to learn and ability to be resilient and adaptable through change
• Strong work ethic and personal responsibility to see things through to completion

Nice To Haves

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Demonstrated leadership experience

Responsibilities

• Spend time in manufacturing areas observing processes, documenting cycle times, and identifying value-added versus non-value-added activities.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, visual management, shadow boards, and workspace organization.
• Assist with a variety of operational improvement projects, such as: Creating or updating tool shadow boards for workstations Updating workstation and floor location labels Assembling carts for material movement within and between work cells Scanning and organizing documents into retention folders Updating Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents
• Partner with operations and support teams to understand needs, communicate updates, and help implement improvements.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
