About The Position

This role is divided into two main areas: physical product handling and facility upkeep. In the first half, you will be responsible for packing and shipping outbound samples, receiving returned units, and inspecting and sorting them according to a documented checklist. The second half involves maintaining the workspace. This includes keeping the office and work areas clean, organizing storage and inventory, and handling general upkeep to ensure the working space remains functional. No technical background in construction or hardware is required, but a careful approach and willingness to perform detailed, unglamorous tasks are essential. Accuracy is critical, as errors in processing returns or organizing the staging area can lead to customer dissatisfaction and operational issues. The tasks are straightforward and well-documented, with the emphasis on consistent and correct execution.

Requirements

  • Willingness to perform physical, unglamorous tasks, including cleaning and hauling boxes
  • Pride in maintaining an orderly space
  • Detail-oriented approach, capable of consistently following checklists
  • Organized, with the ability to track tasks without prompting
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Comfortable with basic computer tasks: data entry into web forms, printing labels, sending emails
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Regular lifting and carrying of boxes up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, and move around the space for most of the shift
  • Experience using standard cleaning equipment and supplies

  • Prior work in shipping, receiving, a retail stockroom, a warehouse, facilities, custodial work, or general office support

Responsibilities

  • Shipping samples and orders
  • Pick, pack, and label outbound sample shipments
  • Generate shipping labels and record tracking information
  • Keep packing materials and shipping supplies stocked
  • General cleaning of the office and work areas: floors, surfaces, desks, common areas, kitchen and break area
  • Manage trash and recycling, including breaking down and disposing of cardboard
  • Keep workbenches, staging areas, and shared spaces clear and usable
  • Restock supplies (office, kitchen, cleaning, and packing materials) and flag low inventory
  • Perform light upkeep tasks such as replacing bulbs and assembling shelving
  • Receive deliveries and flag items needing repair
  • Organize inventory and storage, ensuring shelving and bins are labeled and in order
  • Put product and materials in their designated locations
  • Perform periodic tidying and reorganization of storage areas
  • Process returns by receiving units and logging them into the system
  • Inspect and categorize returned units against a checklist (cosmetic condition, accessory completeness, basic function check)
  • Sort units into appropriate bins (restock, refurbish, scrap) and flag discrepancies
  • Keep the returns area orderly
  • Prepare and ship tool donations to trade schools and CTE programs
  • Assist with space reorganizations, inventory counts, and other one-off projects
