About The Position

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Facilities Operations Supervisor for our Facilities Department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. This role adds value as a key member of the facilities maintenance team, understanding regulatory compliance and maintenance strategies, and exhibiting excellent customer service skills. The Supervisor will oversee employees, provide direction, coaching, and team development, and manage performance to company goals. They will work in coordination with the Facilities Operations Manager and Facilities Project Manager, and in constant coordination with the entire Facilities team and the Director of Facilities to provide service to customers on campus and at select non-acute locations. The role also involves supporting the development of the department budget, controlling costs, assigning work orders (including preventive maintenance), completing and documenting all assigned work, and managing work completion and success metrics. Support will be provided to Security, Safety, Infection Prevention, and Construction teams, including external contractors. On-call coverage is required as needed. Staffing and management updates will be provided when needed. Maintenance and repair issues will be communicated and coordinated with internal and external departments. The Supervisor will assist in the review and oversight of projects performed by Facilities and/or outside contractors, and may accompany other departments in EOC rounds, assisting in the creation of resulting Facilities work orders. Participation in required training and education to remain current with industry standards is expected, along with adherence to Joint Commission and CMS regulations. Other duties as may be required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years is preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise employees, provide direction, coaching and team development and will manage performance to company goals and expectations
  • Work in coordination with the Facilities Operations Manager in departmental oversight and the Facilities Project Manager as needed
  • Work in constant coordination with the entire Facilities team as well as the Director of Facilities to provide service to our customers on the campus and select non-acute locations
  • Support the development of the department budget and control costs throughout the year
  • Assist in the assignment of work orders, including preventive maintenance tasks, to members of the Facilities team
  • Complete and appropriately document all work assigned to Facilities team members and appropriately manage work completion and success metrics
  • Provide support to the Security, Safety, Infection Prevention and Construction teams, including external contractors, as needed
  • Provide on-call coverage as needed or required
  • Provide staffing and management updates when needed
  • Communicate and coordinate any maintenance and repair issues to both internal and external departments when necessary
  • Assist in the review and oversight of projects to be performed by Facilities and/or outside contractors
  • May accompany other departments in the performance of EOC rounds and assist in the creation of any Facilities work orders resulting from those rounds
  • Participate in training and education as required in order to remain current with industry standards
  • Follow and enforce Joint Commission and CMS regulations
