About The Position

The Operations Development Specialist (ODS) is a recent-graduate role in Donaldson’s three-year U.S. Operations Development Program, intended for people pursuing long-term careers in manufacturing operations management, engineering, or supply chain. The program develops participants’ skills and career goals through rotational assignments and leadership development. During years one and two, the ODS completes hands-on assignments in manufacturing engineering, quality, or supply chain at two different U.S. manufacturing or distribution plant locations. Participants lead projects to improve plant safety, quality, delivery, and cost while learning lean manufacturing principles. In year three, the ODS takes on a leadership role at a third U.S. manufacturing plant, supervising employees in an operations area such as engineering, quality, production, or supply chain. Relocation assistance is available for each rotation, dependent on mileage and location. At the end of the program, Donaldson works with each participant to identify a role aligned with their skills and aspirations. Graduates gain a professional network and business foundation, with a potential path to leadership positions at Donaldson’s U.S. manufacturing plants.
