Be a proactive member of the operations team at Center on Halsted (COH), the largest Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) community center in the Midwest. Ensure smooth daily operations, events, and meetings, addressing and communicating potential issues, especially infrastructure concerns. Provide coverage for first-floor reception during lunch breaks and when extra support is needed. Assist with event setup, including arranging furniture, moving gym equipment, checking out equipment, and setting up AV systems. Respond to emergencies and manage challenging clients. Demonstrate cultural competency at all times. Collaborate with staff to ensure program success. Oversee and provide feedback to contracted cleaning and security teams. Complete assigned tasks promptly, prioritize projects, and handle necessary paperwork. Ability to work independently and respond to overnight building alarm calls required.
