About The Position

This role serves as the primary point of contact for facility-related needs and Safety Committee activities while also performing maintenance, repair, and improvement work as required. This multi-faceted position is responsible for coordinating and supporting facility & machine shop operations, preventive maintenance activities, workplace safety programs, and environmental, health, and safety (EHS) initiatives. In this key role, this person will work closely with upper management, acting as the “right-hand” person to the Director of Operations on activities such as department process upgrades, fixturing design and Gemba walks. The successful person for this role will challenge the status quo and will actively seek out ways to improve what we have in place.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in facilities, maintenance, manufacturing, safety, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and facility maintenance practices.
  • Self-motivated and hands on
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to perform basic facility and maintenance repairs.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance systems and documentation.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance tracking systems.
  • High sense of urgency
  • Problem solver / thinker that can identify issues and come up with ideas

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Facilities Management, Safety, Manufacturing Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent experience may be substituted for formal education.
  • Experience coordinating maintenance or facility activities preferred.
  • CAD experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Participate in continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workplace organization, safety, efficiency, and equipment reliability.
  • Gather process knowledge with Gemba walks and implement improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with corrective and preventive action activities resulting from non-conformances.
  • Receive and coordinate facility-related work requests.
  • Perform facility repairs and improvements as needed.
  • Coordinate external contractors, vendors, and service providers.
  • Assist with office, warehouse, assembly, and manufacturing facility upkeep.
  • Maintain and administer the preventive maintenance schedule(s).
  • Coordinate maintenance activities on production equipment with area manager(s).
  • Perform maintenance tasks when appropriate.
  • Track maintenance completion and maintain maintenance records.
  • Coordinate Safety Committee activities, including meeting administration, action item tracking, and employee engagement in safety initiatives.
  • Support workplace safety programs through training coordination, recordkeeping, emergency preparedness activities, and employee awareness efforts.
  • Monitor and follow up on safety concerns, corrective actions, inspections, and safety observations to promote a safe work environment.
  • Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain EHS documentation and regulatory records while coordinating with external consultants, auditors, and compliance resources.
