About The Position

The Seasonal Part-Time Operations Associate supports Local Eclectic’s day-to-day operations during peak season. The role helps ensure customer orders, returns, inventory, and incoming deliveries are handled efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, volume-driven business. Daily priorities may change based on order volume, delivery timing, and operational needs. The associate picks, packs, and ships e-commerce and wholesale orders; processes returns; restocks inventory; receives and organizes deliveries; and supports inventory needs for gifting, sampling, photography, and in-store operations. The role also involves shifting between tasks, completing facility tasks and operations-related errands, assisting with customer emails and chats, and communicating issues to appropriate team members. The position is part-time and in person in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood.

Ability to lift packages up to 30 pounds and reach high places or comfortably use a step stool, with reasonable accommodations as applicable.
Flexible availability in terms of the total number of shifts during the seasonal period.
Availability to work 1–3 shifts during Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend.

Responsibilities

Pick, pack, and ship e-commerce and wholesale orders quickly, accurately, and with care.
Process return orders according to established workflows and restock inventory as needed.
Maintain clean, organized shipping stations and help keep daily fulfillment tasks on track.
Receive online and in-store inventory deliveries; label, organize, move, load, unload, and put away products.
Assist with inventory for gifting, sampling, photography, and in-store operational needs.
Identify and communicate inventory or receiving issues to appropriate team members.
Shift between tasks as order volume, deliveries, and business priorities change.
Respond to time-sensitive needs with urgency while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Help with facility tasks, including taking out recycling and trash, moving boxes, and maintaining an organized work area.
Complete operations-related errands when needed, such as dropping packages at carriers or picking up products from jewelers.
Support training for new team members and take on other inventory- or fulfillment-related tasks and projects.
Assist with customer emails and chats as needed.
Communicate questions, issues, or workflow disruptions clearly and promptly to appropriate team members.
