About The Position

The Seasonal Part-Time Operations Associate supports Local Eclectic’s day-to-day operations during peak season. The role handles customer orders, returns, inventory, and incoming deliveries in a fast-paced, volume-driven business where priorities can change throughout the day. The associate is expected to work quickly and accurately, handle products mindfully, adapt to changing workloads, and provide support wherever needed. This is a part-time, in-person role based in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood. Shifts typically run Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. CT. Some weekend shifts and extended hours may be scheduled during peak volumes, and candidates should be flexible about the number of shifts during the seasonal period. Availability for 1–3 shifts during Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend is required; no shifts will be scheduled on Thanksgiving Day. The role requires standing for extended periods, lifting packages up to 30 pounds, and reaching high places or comfortably using a step stool, with reasonable accommodations as applicable. Success means processing orders and returns quickly and accurately, adapting to changing priorities, maintaining safety and quality, staying productive through busy and slower periods, communicating clearly, and keeping inventory and work areas organized.

Responsibilities

Pick, pack, and ship ecommerce and wholesale orders quickly, accurately, and carefully.
Process return orders promptly according to established workflows.
Restock inventory as needed in connection with shipping and returns.
Maintain clean, organized shipping stations and help keep daily fulfillment tasks on track.
Receive online and in-store inventory deliveries carefully and efficiently.
Label, organize, move, load, unload, and put away products as needed.
Assist with inventory for gifting, sampling, photography, and in-store operational needs.
Identify and communicate inventory or receiving issues to appropriate team members.
Shift between tasks as order volume, deliveries, and business priorities change.
Respond urgently to time-sensitive needs while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Assist with facility tasks, including taking out recycling and trash, moving boxes, and maintaining an organized work area.
Run operations-related errands when needed, such as dropping packages at carriers or picking up products from jewelers.
Support training for new team members and take on other inventory or fulfillment-related tasks and projects as they arise.
Assist with customer emails and chats as needed to support a thoughtful and reliable customer experience.
Communicate questions, issues, or workflow disruptions clearly and promptly to appropriate team members.
