About The Position
The Operations Associate creates an outstanding customer experience by performing store operations functions. This is an early morning position, working with a team to complete functions before the store opens. The role includes customer service, pricing and signing, replenishing and restocking merchandise, receiving and unloading deliveries, maintaining backroom standards, supporting omnichannel orders and returns, and executing merchandise placement plans. Associates also learn about merchandise, shrink, safety, productivity, and other business processes through peers and training materials. JCPenney describes its business as serving diverse, working American families through its stores and online shopping, with a broad assortment of fashion, apparel, home, beauty, and jewelry products and personal services. The company has 50,000 associates worldwide and more than 650 stores in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of retail experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service and assist customers with questions or requests while working throughout the store.
- Execute merchandise pricing changes and signage across the store.
- Replenish and restock merchandise by pulling and preparing items for the sales floor.
- Work with co-workers to unload trucks and prepare merchandise in the backroom.
- Keep the stockroom safe, clean, and organized.
- Contribute to omnichannel efforts, including Buy Online Pickup in Store, Ship from Store, Order Delivery and Returns, shipping online orders, and merchandise receiving.
- Follow merchandise placement plans communicated by leadership and maintain merchandising standards while moving goods to the sales floor.
- Participate in learning about merchandise, shrink, safety, productivity, and other business processes.
- Solve problems and make decisions that support sales, profit, or customer service; work efficiently and effectively.
- Provide great customer service, build positive and respectful relationships, and take accountability for actions and outcomes.
- Proactively seek ways to improve the customer experience and act with confidence, energy, and urgency.
