Operations Associate (Full-Time) - Mall of America
About The Position
The Operations Associate is a store-team role responsible for driving profitability and efficiency. Working closely with the Operations & Visual Management team, the associate initiates and completes operational work and provides feedback to support effective total-store operations. The role includes inventory management, shipment and receiving, product processing and replenishment, visual standards, stockroom processes, and support for store facilities and supplies. The associate moves throughout the store to assess and fulfill the needs of the business, team, and guests. When not assisting guests, the associate takes initiative to help keep the store clean, safe, inviting, and efficient. The position is full-time, non-exempt, and based at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. Associates are expected to have open availability seven days a week for 32–40 hours and to work during the company’s holiday blackout period.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of prior work experience in a client-centric sales and operational environment.
- Ability to lift, push, carry, or otherwise move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to lift, bend, kneel, climb, crawl, and/or twist, and safely climb up and down a ladder.
- Ability to stand and move for an entire shift.
- Passion for customer service and delivering exceptional experiences.
- Self-motivated, with a desire to achieve results and excel individually and as part of a team.
- Ability to align with and embody ALO’s Guiding Principles.
- Open availability seven days a week for 32–40 hours.
- Availability to work during the company’s blackout period, from the week of American Thanksgiving through the first week of January.
Responsibilities
- Execute inventory management processes to maximize inventory accuracy and reduce shrink.
- Investigate and identify root causes of inventory accuracy issues, partnering with the General/Store Manager to escalate process or system gaps.
- Support shipment, receiving and processing, reverse transfers, sales-floor recovery, intraday replenishment, floor-set updates, and supply management.
- Maintain and champion strong visual standards on the sales floor.
- Work with reporting, budgets, expenses, inventory control, supplies, vendor relationships, technology, and facilities to ensure they are maintained and maximized.
- Support a safe work environment and efficient operations through strong stockroom standards and processes.
- Move dynamically on the retail floor to assess and fulfill the needs of the business, team, and guests.
- Execute company-level operations-focused directives, projects, and initiatives in partnership with the Operations & Visual Management team.
- Assist with shipment processing and product flow, including visual merchandising placement and daily replenishment.
- Use business metrics to support strategies that drive business results.
- Resolve client needs quickly and effectively to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Identify product concerns and communicate inventory needs to support business goals.
- Perform other tasks as needed to keep the store clean, safe, inviting, and operating efficiently.
