About The Position

The Operations Readiness Lead- Autonomy is responsible for supporting the smooth transition of projects from construction and design into operational phases. This role focuses on preparing systems, processes, and teams to ensure readiness for production, while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, compliance, and operational goals. Reporting to the Corporate Manager Mining and Technology or a similar leader, the Specialist works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve readiness objectives.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Scrum) and tools.
  • Technical expertise in enterprise systems, ERP platforms (such as SAP), and other business applications.
  • Basic understanding of operational readiness concepts and project lifecycle phases.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for working with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with project management tools.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook) and project management software (e.g., Jira, Trello, MS Project).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 2–5 years of experience in operations, project coordination, or a related role in industrial, mining, or heavy industry sectors.
  • Candidates must possess a current and valid driver’s license.
  • Offers of employment are contingent upon a successful criminal background check and pre-employment physical including a drug screen (hair analysis).

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of mine site or industrial operations (preferred for mining-specific roles).
  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance requirements (preferred).
  • Familiarity with data integration, automation technologies, and emerging trends in digital transformation.
  • Exposure to project management or operational readiness activities.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) or similar tools.
  • Prior experience with commissioning, testing, or process improvements in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and execution of operations readiness plans, ensuring tasks and milestones are completed on schedule.
  • Work with operations, maintenance, and construction teams to align activities and address operational needs during project transitions.
  • Support the creation and management of operational procedures, workflows, and handover documentation.
  • Help organize and facilitate training programs for employees to ensure they are prepared to operate new systems and equipment.
  • Assist in the implementation of safety and environmental procedures during the readiness phase, ensuring alignment with company and regulatory standards.
  • Identify and communicate potential risks related to the transition to operations and support the development of mitigation strategies.
  • Support pre-operational testing, commissioning, and validation of systems and equipment to ensure readiness for production.
  • Assist in tracking key readiness metrics and preparing reports for project leaders and stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements during readiness activities and provide input on potential solutions.
  • Participate in incident investigations during pre-operational activities and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Responsible for executing, supporting, and enforcing the Company's Environmental, Health and Safety program as required by OIS policy, directives, and principles.
