About The Position

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) provides critical care services in a fast-paced surgical environment. The role requires proficiency in circulating for heavy orthopedic, urology, spine procedures, and robotic surgeries. The RN assesses patients, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, and ensures high standards of patient care. The position includes call coverage during one weeknight and two weekend days per month, with possible additional call depending on departmental needs. Floating to other facilities may also be necessary. Holiday coverage may be required.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience.
• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Proficiency in circulating for heavy orthopedic, urology, spine procedures, and robotic surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Provide clear explanations and instructions to patients and responsible parties.
• Use clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient conditions.
• Contribute to a positive workplace environment through effective conflict management and communication skills.
• Meet core measure responsibilities relating to patient care.
• Participate in continuing education and maintain professional development.
• Maintain complete and accurate medical records.
• Provide call coverage during one weeknight and two weekend days per month, with possible additional call depending on departmental needs.
• Float to other facilities as necessary.
• Provide holiday coverage when required.
