The Hamilton School for Classical and Civic Education at the University of Florida invites applications for tenure-track and tenured faculty positions in American Government, History, Literature, and Law (AGHLL). Established in 2022, the Hamilton School is a multidisciplinary academic unit focused on teaching and research concerning the ideas, traditions, and texts that shape Western civilization and American values and institutions. The School offers undergraduate and graduate degrees. This search is open rank, welcoming scholars at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor levels. Successful candidates will offer courses in Hamilton’s AGHLL major and may contribute to one of Hamilton’s other majors: Great Books and Ideas; Philosophy, Politics, Economics and Law; or War, Statecraft and Strategy. Applicants from various disciplines including political science, jurisprudence, constitutional studies, history, literature, religion, and art history are encouraged. The search is open regarding historical period, from colonial to contemporary America.
