About The Position

Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Pharmacy (PCOM-SOP) develops leaders in pharmacy through an engaging, immersive learning environment grounded in a shared commitment to innovative research, excellent teaching, and service to the profession and community. PCOM-SOP invites applications from highly motivated candidates for a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor faculty position in the Department of Pharmacy Practice, with a specialized practice area in Cardiology. This position centers on teaching the didactic and experiential components of the Doctor of Pharmacy program while building a successful cardiology clinical practice. Additional responsibilities include service to the practice site and college, and active contributions to research and scholarship.

Requirements

• PharmD from an accredited school or college of pharmacy (required).
• Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 residency or fellowship, or equivalent experience in the specialty area (required).
• Active Georgia pharmacist license, or eligibility for licensure within 60 days of hire (required).

Nice To Haves

• Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-2 residency in Cardiology.
• Board Certified Cardiology Pharmacist (BCCP) credential, or Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) with demonstrated cardiology practice experience.
• Experience precepting students and/or residents in an inpatient or ambulatory cardiology setting.
• Record of scholarly activity, including peer-reviewed publications or professional presentations.

Responsibilities

• Provide didactic, laboratory, and small-group teaching, along with course coordination, as assigned by the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice.
• Develop and maintain a cardiology clinical practice site that provides direct patient care and serves as a precepting site for students and residents.
• Serve as a mentor, advocate, and adviser to students and peer faculty, guiding their scholarly development and career goals.
• Conduct scholarly activities within the department and school, including research, publication, and presentation in the field of cardiology.
• Engage in interprofessional collaboration with cardiology and related medical teams to advance patient care and pharmacy student training.
• Participate in departmental, college, and university service, including committee work as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice.
