About The Position

This position will be in the Division of Hematology in the Department of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The individual in this position will be expected to manage patients with leukemia specifically chronic lymphocytic leukemia. They will also be expected to manage individuals with monoclonal B cell lymphocytosis and occasionally low-grade lymphomas. This individual will have a robust clinical research program, which would include investigator initiated clinical trials, clinical trials working with pharmaceutical company partners and cooperative group trials. Additionally, this individual could have a robust translational oncology program that focused on a better understanding of the biology of chronic lymphocytic leukemia or MBCL or biomarkers of disease severity for those diseases. As this is an open rank posting, the candidate hired into this position could be hired into a fixed term, variable track or tenure track faculty appointment at any academic rank.

Requirements

• MD or equivalent degree.
• Board certification or eligibility in Hematology and/or Oncology.
• Demonstrated ability to manage patients with leukemia, monoclonal B cell lymphocytosis, and low-grade lymphomas.
• Experience or strong interest in clinical research, including investigator-initiated trials, industry-sponsored trials, and cooperative group trials.
• Interest in translational oncology research.

• Interest in pursuing research efforts as well as clinical patient care.
