About The Position

The BOSS (Buy Online Ship from Store) process improves the customer shopping experience by using inventory across retail locations to quickly find products for customers. The BOSS Fulfillment Outfitter handles BOSS orders and related merchandise by sorting, picking, packing, and loading products for shipment to direct customers and retail stores as needed. The role requires familiarity with the products sold and careful handling of merchandise to maintain its quality and appearance.

The position performs varied back-room retail functions, including receiving and inspecting merchandise, filling orders, sorting and packing goods for shipment, and using material-handling equipment or manual methods to move merchandise. The employee may spend most of their time in one area but must be able to work across multiple functions as needed. During store hours, the employee may also help customers find merchandise and make purchasing decisions. Work is performed under general supervision using established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and recommend improvements to procedures, policies, or practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• 0–2 years of experience.
• Ability to follow through on order processing, including properly closing orders in the BOSS system.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to read label descriptions and stock merchandise by UPC codes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to operate receiving equipment.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect merchandise, fill orders, and sort and pack merchandise in appropriate containers or cartons for shipment.
• Sort merchandise into order groupings and package it using suitable containers, cartons, or packaging.
• Apply designated labels and visually inspect products for quality and customer-ready presentation.
• Fill retail and direct-customer orders by inspecting products, matching them to orders, and pulling merchandise from designated stock locations.
• Move merchandise among warehouse locations using authorized material-handling equipment or manually load and unload trailers.
• Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness and follow procedures for a safe work environment.
• Attend mandatory training and in-services, including new employee orientation, safety training, and job-skills training.
• Assist customers in finding merchandise and making buying decisions when working on the sales floor during store hours.
• Communicate issues or needs affecting job execution, including short picks, out-of-stocks, on-hand counts, and supplies.
• Follow through on order processing, including properly closing orders in the BOSS system.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
