About The Position

The One to One/Therapeutic Behavior Aide works at Sheppard Pratt School in Cumberland, a nonpublic special education day school serving students in grades K–12 with emotional disabilities and autism. The school provides year-round educational, vocational, and daily living services in a supportive, inclusive environment focused on students’ academic, cognitive, social, and emotional growth.

In this entry-level role, the aide supports a teacher as a paraprofessional educator and/or works with an assigned student as a dedicated one-to-one aide. The position provides experience relevant to future careers in special education, registered behavior technology, or applied behavior analysis. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the work is in person. The stated pay range is $18.50 to $22.95 per hour, with pay determined by factors including the years and level of related experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Support the teacher as a paraprofessional educator and/or work with an assigned student as a dedicated one-to-one aide.
• Support Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives by documenting student progress and providing additional instruction and structure.
• Provide educational and adaptive behavior support.
• Provide behavior intervention and treatment.
• Lead classroom activities when opportunities arise.
