About The Position

The Onboarding Specialist plays an active role in the onboarding, training, and ongoing development of Ridge staff. Working in close partnership with the Training Supervisor, HR, and leadership team, this position takes direct ownership of orientation programming and staff development initiatives and supports training efforts around on-the-floor coaching and policy reinforcement. The Onboarding Specialist ensures that employees are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to perform successfully.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years’ minimum experience in learning and development, training, and employee engagement.
  • Excellent public speaking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including second shift, noon to 8:00 PM shifts, weekends, and adjusted schedules as needed.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in residential or therapeutic settings preferred.
  • CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Prevention Institute certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead HR logistics for training sessions, including scheduling, material preparation, and communication for all new employees.
  • Focus on ensuring new hires in their first 90 days are engaged and trained to do their job.
  • Assist in conducting training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and development opportunities across various departments.
  • Collaborate with site and HR leadership to design, plan, and implement training programs to meet organizational needs.
  • Review and assess the effectiveness of current training materials and programs, implementing enhancements/modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention.
  • Support Training Supervisor with on-the-floor training, coaching, and mentorship to Clinical Assistants and other designated staff.
  • Collect and analyze feedback from training participants to identify areas for improvement and measure program effectiveness.
  • Communicate policy updates, procedural changes, and training expectations to staff in a timely and clear manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of training participation, coaching sessions, and assigned competencies.
  • Maintain current knowledge of policies and procedures through regular review and staying up to date on changes.
  • Support compliance with DHHS standards, audits, inspections, and documentation reviews as requested.
  • Flex schedule as needed, including second-shift and weekends, to provide consistent training support across all operational hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
