On Site Specialist I
About The Position
Responsible for providing hazardous and non-hazardous services at a client facility to meet environmental needs in accordance with state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations. The role works under supervision and/or independently to complete customer projects safely and successfully. Duties may include packing, labeling, manifesting, and shipping waste according to contract parameters. The position operates in clean storage warehouse, household hazardous waste, laboratory, waste sampling, and waste handling environments. The role requires regular attendance and may involve extended hours to meet deadlines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related science discipline.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in project and time management.
- Knowledge of continuous process operations, chemical processing, and waste disposal.
- Computer proficiency with Google Office.
- Normal close-range vision for reading.
- Manual dexterity to handle paperwork and operate a computer keyboard.
- Mobility and hearing to gather information and confer with others.
- Ability to attend work regularly and work extended hours to meet deadlines.
Nice To Haves
- 2–4 years of industry-related work and customer service experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional image with clients by answering inquiries and suggesting solutions to existing and potential problems.
- Manage onsite customers’ hazardous and non-hazardous waste needs in accordance with the contract.
- Comply with and enforce environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
- Complete accurate US DOT/EPA paperwork to expedite hazardous waste disposal, as required.
- Operate and maintain equipment safely to complete assigned projects efficiently and effectively.
- Understand contract terms and follow through on assignments.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
- Pack, label, manifest, and ship waste according to contract parameters, as needed.
