On-Site Service Representative (Full Time) West Columbia, SC
About The Position
W.W. Grainger is hiring a full-time On-Site Service Representative in the West Columbia, South Carolina area. The representative supports assigned customers by managing inventory, providing customer service, and driving account growth through the KeepStock inventory management program. The role also involves working with partners to implement sales strategies and helping customers understand Grainger’s solutions for their maintenance, repair, and operating (MRO) needs. The position involves servicing multiple customer locations, receiving and stocking purchased products at customer sites, and maintaining stock levels by scanning inventory for replenishment orders. Representatives follow routes established by routing software, address customer problems, identify additional product needs, and look for opportunities to improve productivity, processes, and cycle time. They must comply with the safety and inspection requirements of each facility they serve. The anticipated base pay range is $19.86 to $24.81 per hour. Individual compensation may vary based on factors including work location, experience, and skills.
Requirements
- Three years of experience in a selling or service environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift 25 to 60 pounds and/or work in difficult positions.
- Collaboration and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle different technical and operational issues.
- Valid driver's license in the state of residence, which must be maintained.
- Must carry required levels of automobile insurance.
Responsibilities
- Service multiple customer locations.
- Receive and stock purchased products in designated customer locations.
- Maintain product stocking levels by scanning inventory and ordering products as inventory is depleted.
- Resolve customer problems promptly to retain and promote customer loyalty.
- Follow routes defined by routing software and maintain route guides.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities in productivity, processes, and cycle time.
- Comply with the safety and inspection requirements of customer facilities.
- Engage with customers to identify additional product needs and help create new orders.
- Probe for customer needs during each site visit and work with sales partners to expand Grainger offerings.
- Work with partners to implement sales strategy and help customers understand Grainger's MRO solutions.
