On-Site Service Representative (Full Time)
About The Position
W.W. Grainger is hiring a full-time On-Site Service Representative in the greater North Haven, Connecticut area. The role supports assigned customers by managing inventory, providing customer service, and driving account growth through the KeepStock inventory management program. The representative works with partners to implement sales strategy and help customers understand Grainger’s solutions for their maintenance, repair, and operating (MRO) needs. The position is hourly, with an anticipated base pay range of $23.50 to $29 per hour. The representative reports to a Supervisor or Manager of Onsite Services. Work is onsite and involves servicing multiple customer locations, handling and stocking products, and traveling along a designated route. Requirements
- Three years of experience in a selling or service environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift 25 to 60 pounds and/or work in difficult positions.
- Collaboration and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle different technical and operational issues.
- Valid driver's license in the state of residence, which must be maintained.
- Must carry required levels of automobile insurance.
Responsibilities
- Service multiple customer locations.
- Receive and stock purchased products in designated customer locations.
- Maintain product stocking levels by scanning inventory as it is depleted to support ordering.
- Resolve customer problems promptly to retain and promote customer loyalty.
- Follow the route designated by routing software tools and maintain route guides.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities in productivity, processes, and cycle time.
- Comply with the safety and inspection requirements of each facility where service is provided.
- Engage with customers to identify additional product needs and help create new orders.
- Probe for customer needs during each site visit and work with sales partners to expand Grainger offerings.
- Work with partners to implement sales strategy and help customers understand Grainger’s MRO solutions.
