On-Site Service Representative (Full Time) North Charleston, SC
About The Position
Grainger is hiring a full-time On-Site Service Representative in North Charleston, South Carolina. The role supports assigned customers by managing their inventory, providing customer service, and driving account growth through the KeepStock inventory management program. The representative also works with partners to implement sales strategies and helps customers understand how Grainger can address their maintenance, repair, and operating (MRO) needs. The position involves servicing a large customer location, receiving and stocking purchased products, monitoring inventory levels, and scanning depleted inventory for replenishment orders. The representative follows a route defined by routing software, resolves customer issues, identifies process improvements, and complies with the facility’s safety and inspection requirements. Through customer engagement and site visits, the representative identifies additional product needs and works with sales partners to expand Grainger’s offerings.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a selling or service environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift 25 to 60 pounds and/or work in difficult positions.
- Collaboration and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle different technical and operational issues.
- Valid driver’s license in the state of residence.
- Must carry the required levels of automobile insurance.
Responsibilities
- Service a large customer location.
- Receive and stock purchased products in the designated customer location and monitor stocking levels by scanning depleted inventory for replenishment.
- Resolve customer problems promptly to retain and promote customer loyalty.
- Follow the route defined by routing software tools and maintain route guides.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities in productivity, process, and cycle time.
- Comply with the safety and inspection requirements of the facility where service is provided.
- Engage with customers to identify additional product needs and help create new orders.
- Probe for customer needs during each site visit and work with sales partners to expand Grainger’s offerings.
- Work with partners to implement sales strategy and help customers understand Grainger’s MRO solutions.
