About The Position

This is a student employee position for Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer II 2027 at the Crowley Campus of South Louisiana Community College. The role is within the Academic & Student Affairs department and is classified as Unclassified - Student. The appointment dates are from August 17, 2026, to June 30, 2027, with a salary of $10 per hour and a maximum of 25 hours per week. The position offers Federal Work Study Experience Learning Outcomes, aiming to help students gain knowledge of personal characteristics and behavior for employment, understand job seeking and retention processes, develop customer service and transferable work skills, and learn practical work tenets for success in a professional office environment.

Requirements

Applicant must be a current SoLAcc student, enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours for the corresponding semester (Fall 2026, Spring 2027, Summer I 2027 semester).
Must have a completed 2026-2027 FAFSA on file with SoLAcc.
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Passing pre-employment criminal background screen is required as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Providing outstanding service to students and other internal and external customers.
Providing day-to-day administrative and office support for the assigned department.
Communicating effectively with students and others as directed via telephone, email, and in face-to-face settings.
Completing a diverse set of tasks designed to develop and strengthen knowledge and skills related to employment in a professional environment.
Working independently within a team on special and ongoing projects.
Demonstrating a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Ability and endurance necessary to work the hours needed to complete the job.
Attendance at all mandatory meetings.
