About The Position

Planned Companies Building Services is seeking friendly, detail-oriented Janitors and Custodians to provide common-area and bathroom cleaning services at a residential or commercial property in Manhattan, New York. The role helps ensure tenants, guests, and vendors have a clean, healthy, and safe place to live or work. Employees are expected to be polite, respectful, thorough, and observant of opportunities to provide a high level of service. The schedule is on call with open availability, and the stated pay is $22 per hour.

Requirements

• Experience in similar roles using cleaning products and equipment to clean floors and carpets.
• Ability to work on a team and independently when needed.
• Strong report-writing and clear verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.

Nice To Haves

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors of various types.
• Strip, buff, and wax floors of various types.
• Dust ceilings, light fittings, countertops, and loose furniture.
• Scrub and sanitize bathroom toilets, sinks, and kitchen fixtures.
• Empty trash cans and wash and dry windows.
• Request cleaning-supply orders and report breakages and needed repairs.
• Assist building management with projects and perform other duties as requested.
