About The Position

Harmony At Home Senior Care is hiring experienced, dependable On-Call Caregivers to provide backup coverage for clients throughout the DFW area. This is a great opportunity for an experienced caregiver who likes variety, is comfortable with different levels of care, doesn't mind driving, and can be counted on when a client unexpectedly needs coverage. As an On-Call Caregiver, you won't necessarily work with the same client every day. Instead, you'll be part of our ready-to-go backup team and may be sent wherever coverage is needed during your scheduled on-call hours. Assignments may include one-on-one care in a client's private home or providing scheduled one-on-one assistance in a senior living or facility setting, including assisting multiple residents with individually scheduled care tasks. Care may include: Companionship and supervision, Bathing, dressing and grooming, Toileting and incontinence care, Transfers and mobility assistance, Dementia-related support, Meal preparation, Light housekeeping, Other activities of daily living and hands-on personal care.

Requirements

• Experienced caregiver.
• Dependable.
• Comfortable with different levels of care.
• Doesn't mind driving.
• Can be counted on when a client unexpectedly needs coverage.
• Comfortable working with male and female clients.
• Comfortable providing hands-on personal care.
• Comfortable assisting clients with different mobility and transfer needs.
• Comfortable working with clients with varying levels of independence.
• Comfortable working in both private homes and senior living/facility environments.
• Comfortable working in homes with dogs, cats or birds.
• Comfortable working with clients who smoke or in homes where smoking may occur.
• Comfortable driving throughout the DFW service area.
• Able to receive assignments on short notice.
• Comfortable working with different clients rather than only one regular client.
• Strong caregiving experience.
• Confident providing more than companionship-only care.
• Able to receive a call, get the information needed, grab things, and confidently step in to help.
• Dependable.
• Comfortable going wherever needed throughout DFW.

Responsibilities

• Provide backup coverage for clients throughout the DFW area.
• Be part of a ready-to-go backup team and may be sent wherever coverage is needed during scheduled on-call hours.
• Provide one-on-one care in a client's private home or senior living/facility setting.
• Assist clients with companionship and supervision.
• Assist clients with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Assist clients with toileting and incontinence care.
• Assist clients with transfers and mobility.
• Provide dementia-related support.
• Prepare meals.
• Perform light housekeeping.
• Assist with other activities of daily living and hands-on personal care.

Benefits

• $18/hour – Client Care
• $7.25/hour – Paid Travel Time
• $1/hour – Standby Pay
